Measuring Type est le projet réalisé par le designer britannique Tom Wrigglesworth et Matt Robinson, déjà présenté avec HP invent. Sa création s’appuie cette fois-ci sur la quantité d’encre consommée en fonction du type de police sélectionné. Il s’est basé sur les polices les plus utilisées mondialement, afin que le résultat soit d’autant plus pertinent. Surprenant !

Il a utilisé un stylo bic par police d’écriture pour écrire le mot « Sample », ainsi on peut facilement comparer l’encre consommée.

A selection of the most commonly used typefaces were compared for how economical they are with the amount of ink which they use at the same point size. Large scale renditions of the typefaces were drawn out with ballpoint pens, allowing the remaining ink levels to display the ink efficiency of each typeface.
